Welcome

Welcome to the Saginaw Bay District of the United Methodist Church:  Rev. Dr. Jeffrey R. Maxwell,
District Superintendent.
The Saginaw Bay District comprises 72 local churches in the northeast portion of the lower peninsula of Michigan.  The district is one of six districts of the Detroit Annual Conference, Deborah Kiesey, Resident Bishop.

SBD Member at Large for DAC

Saginaw Bay District Fav,

Are you interested in representing the Saginaw Bay District at Annual Conference? Please read further and respond soon if this interests you.

DAC is schedule for May 14-17, 2015 at Adrian College. This will be the last year DAC is held in Adrian.

June 8-13, 2016 both DAC and West Michigan Conference will meet together at The Breslin Center on campus of Michigan State University. http://www.westmichiganconference.org/news/detail/3250 Please read here for more details.

In light of these big events in our conference, we are asking that you be willing to make a two year commitment to serve as a voting member for the SB District at both the 2015 and 2016 Annual Conferences.

If you are interested in representing the SB District with voice and vote, please email a letter to the Rev. Dr. Maxwell explaining your involvement in the local church, district and conference level if any and why you are interested in representing the district.

Please be aware that submitting a letter of interest does not automatically make you a representative. There are always more people interested than spots available. The DS will go over the letters and make a prayerful decision.

Letters are due before February 2, 2015.

Please address all emails to Rev. Dr. Maxwell at sagbaydist@aol.com

Imagine No Malaria

"Imagine No Malaria" has awakened the church to what disciples of Jesus can do to transform the world.  Just imagine what we can and will do next.

A small $10 donation will save one life.  The Detroit and West Michigan Conferences approved an effort to invite every United Methodist Church in Michigan to save the life of one person in Africa for every member of their faith community.  Our Michigan area goal is to save 150,000 lives by December 2014 by raising $1.5 million.

Donate NOW:  Advance Special Number:  3021190 or text Malaria DAC to 27722
